KRACK attack: Security weaknesses affecting wi-fi enabled devices

Weaknesses have been discovered in a protocol that wi-fi uses. They are being referred to as KRACK (Key Reinstallation Attack).

This vulnerability can allow attackers to read data that passes between a device and the wi-fi router, and in some cases attackers can alter the traffic to change what is displayed to the user.

In general, wi-fi attacks such as KRACK are only possible when the attacker is physically within range of the wi-fi signal.
