Cyber Smart Week 2020 will run from 19 –23 October. The primary goal of the campaign is to increase the cyber resilience of all New Zealanders so they’re less vulnerable to cyber attacks.
Use a password manager.
It’s like a vault for all your passwords.
Turn on two-factor authentication.
It adds an extra layer of security to your accounts.
Update your devices.
Up-to-date operating systems and apps defend against bugs and viruses.
Check your privacy settings.
Know and control who can see your stuff.
Support the campaign
We really value your participation in the campaign!
By combining our efforts, we’re able to reach millions of New Zealanders with cyber smart messages and practical advice on stepping up their cyber defence.
If you’ve supported previous campaigns, we‘d love you participate again this year.
To those who are new to Cyber Smart Week, we welcome your support in sharing these important cyber security messages with your customers, staff, networks and communities.
Here are some ideas on how to get involved:
- Spread the word: Share the campaign resources in your social media channels, newsletters, blogs, websites and intranet.
- Run a workshop or brown bag lunch: Becoming cyber secure is a daunting prospect for many people. Get your staff or customers together and demonstrate how easy it is for them to step up their cyber defence. You could explain how to use a password manager and show them how 2FA works.
- Start a conversation: Share what you’ve been doing to step up your cyber defence using the hashtag #GetCyberSmart.
