Social media has become a way of life for many people. We use it to keep in touch, plan events, share our photos and comment on current events. It’s replaced email and phone calls for a lot of us. But, as with anything else online, it’s important to be aware of the risks. Check out our advice on how you can keep your social media accounts safe and secure.

Social media is great — but it’s also the first place attackers go to find information about you.
Here are some tips to help you stay safe.
- Be clever with your login and passwords – create different passwords for different accounts and don’t login automatically.
- Set and check your privacy settings regularly so you know who can see what.
- Don’t post content you might regret.
- And think twice before you click. Make sure you know who you’re connecting with.
