Reserve Bank of New Zealand data breach

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has suffered a data breach which has been widely reported in New Zealand media. The breach relates to a compromise of a third party file sharing service, Accellion FTA, used to share files with external stakeholders.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is leading the incident response and receiving guidance and advice from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) along with other relevant government agencies.

We believe the use of this software in New Zealand is limited and Accellion has actively been contacting organisations that could be affected.
